CANDICE HOPKINS
Executive Director of Forge Project, Taghkanic, NY, and Senior Curator for the 2019 and 2022 editions of the Toronto Biennial of Art. She was a part of the curatorial team for the SITE Santa Fe’s 2018 Sitelines Biennial, the Canadian Pavilion for the 2019 Venice Biennial and influential exhibitions, including Sakahàn: International Indigenous Art (2013), National Gallery of Canada, Close Encounters: The Next 500 Years (2011), Plug In ICA , and, documenta 14 in Kassel and Athens (2017). She is recipient of the 2015 Hnatyshyn Foundation Award for Curatorial Excellence in Contemporary Art.

JOSÉ LÓPEZ MAZZ
He studied Anthropology at the University of the Republic (Faculty of Humanities) and obtained a Diploma in Archeology at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (France) with a thesis on rock art in Brazil. He completed a PhD at the Institut des Hautes Études en Amérique Latine (La Sorbonne, Paris III) on Uruguayan identity and its indigenous imagination. He has conducted archaeological research in the lowlands of eastern Uruguay and on the last native peoples, publishing articles and books on those topics. He is Professor of Archeology at the University of the Republic (Faculty of Humanities and Eastern Region University Center) and researcher of the National Researchers System. He has been director of the Department of Archeology and visiting professor at several universities (San Pablo, La Sorbona, Río de Janeiro, Olavarría, Autonomous de Barcelona, Paso Fundo). Between 2005 and 2019 he was a member of the National Cultural Heritage Commission. He has carried out forensic archaeological investigations and expertise on Human Rights for the governments and justice of Uruguay and Brazil. Among other activities, he has practiced journalism, is often involved in audiovisual work, was a merchant marine and a rugby player.
