CURATORIAL

For ESTE ARTE 2026, 12th edition, Valerie’s Factory presents Trinidad Metz Brea’s project “Technorganic Bodies”, conceived especially for the public of ESTE ARTE and Uruguay. The series explores sculpture as a living system, merging affect, corporeality, and the artificial into speculative forms. Works crafted from native woods, marble, and biodegradable PLA polymer function as vibratile organs—open to mutation and desire, rather than fixed form. These hybrid entities condense ancestral traditions with futuristic technologies, creating bodies without organs that resonate with ecological and mythological imaginaries. “Technorganic Bodies” activates sculpture as a zone of contact between the intimate and the alien, inviting viewers into a circuit of continual transformation.
