Directors | Christopher Burness, Freddie Burness, Katie Burness
Cadogan is an independent contemporary art gallery with spaces in London and Milan. For over forty years, our mission has been to represent, support, and curate the work of a diverse roster of emerging and established artists. We care deeply about longevity, developing the careers of our artists and the journey of our collectors. In 1980, we opened the doors to our first gallery in South Kensington, London. In 2023, we added a new international perspective to our distinctive exhibitions program by opening a gallery in Milan and our flagship gallery space on Harriet Street in Belgravia, London, in 2024.

Richard Zinon
Richard Zinon
CURATORIAL VISION
Cadogan Gallery presents a body of paintings by Richard Zinon developed in dialogue with the landscape surrounding José Ignacio. Zinon builds his surfaces slowly, accumulating layers that produce a patina reminiscent of aged paper or stone. Against these atmospheric grounds, calligraphic gestures are executed rapidly and intuitively, creating a tension between duration and immediacy. The landscape enters the work indirectly, through light, atmosphere, rhythm, and the experience of working in Uruguay rather than through representation. The presentation foregrounds the relationship between Zinon’s meditative process and the decisive physical gesture that completes each painting.
BIO
Richard Zinon (b. 1985, Manchester, United Kingdom) is a British painter whose abstract practice centers on gesture, materiality, and the physical act of painting. Working with a restricted palette, he builds layered surfaces punctuated by broad, calligraphic marks that explore light, depth, and movement. Zinon avoids preparatory sketches, allowing intuition and physical immediacy to guide the final gestures of each composition. He studies in Florence at the Angel Academy of Art and the Accademia di Belle Arti and lives and works between Italy and the United Kingdom.

Jonathan Vivacqua
CURATORIAL VISION
For ESTE OFFSITE 2027, Cadogan Gallery presents a new large-scale sculpture by Jonathan Vivacqua, conceived specifically for the entrance to ESTE ARTE. Expanding the artist’s Leggera series into a monumental intervention, the work explores the relationship between sculpture, architecture, and public space. Drawing on gestures associated with manual labor and construction, Vivacqua creates structures that challenge conventional notions of weight, balance, and permanence. Despite its scale, the sculpture retains a sense of lightness, openness, and permeability, inviting visitors to move around it and experience its shifting relationship with the surrounding environment. Rather than functioning as an autonomous object, the work activates its site, transforming the entrance into a space of encounter and inviting reflection on the boundaries between construction and deconstruction, solidity and fragility, form and void.
BIO
Jonathan Vivacqua (b. 1986, Erba, Italy) is an Italian sculptor whose practice explores the physical and conceptual possibilities of materials through processes inspired by manual labor, construction, and architectural structures. His work investigates the relationships between space and void, balance and instability, permanence and transformation. Often characterized by essential forms and seemingly precarious configurations, his sculptures occupy an ambiguous territory between completion and collapse. Working across different scales and contexts, Vivacqua approaches sculpture as an ongoing process rather than a fixed object, emphasizing the relationships between material, landscape, architecture, and the viewer’s perception.
