DON BAEZ ACQUISITION AWARD
Within the framework of 10 years, ESTE ARTE has the honor and pride of announcing the incorporation of a new acquisition award, which seeks to recognize, enhance and strengthen the work that has been done for years in Uruguay.
ESTE ARTE and Don Baez present the inaugural Don Baez Acquisition Award for the purchase of a work of art valued at up to USD 10,000 exhibited at ESTE ARTE.
This award is entirely funded by Claudia and Diana Weiss, renowned businesswomen, collectors and art lovers.
The jury will select an artwork, among all the galleries and artists participating in the 10th edition of ESTE ARTE, that will become part of the new Don Baez Collection.
In this first edition of the award, the jury will be composed by Claudia Weiss, president of Don Baez; Diana Weiss, patron, lawyer and art collector; and Laura Bardier, independent curator and founding director of ESTE ARTE.
LAETITIA PHILANTHROPY AWARD
ESTE ARTE presents the inaugural Laetitia Award of ESTE ARTE, which recognizes individuals and organizations that are dedicated to the creation and dissemination of art in Uruguay. It constitutes a distinction that recognizes the invaluable support provided to the dissemination and preservation of cultural heritage in the country. This is in recognition of the important work of patronage and support for the development of the visual arts on the local scene.
The award is named in honor of Laetitia d’Aremberg, who has been one of the main patrons of culture in Uruguay. In this tenth edition, ESTE ARTE has the honor of awarding Ama Amoedo with the first Laetitia Award in recognition of her commitment to art.
The Laetita Award Jury is made up of Laetitia d’Aremberg, Laura Bardier (ESTE ARTE), Martín Castillo (Galería SUR), Silvia Arrozés (Galería del Paseo) and Renos Xippas (Xippas). This prestigious award has been designed on this occasion by the renowned artist Guadalupe Ayala.
